Original Post From AW

Dont know if i should post this here or as a news item but i will put here for now.

After working on trying to connect an Amiga A4000 keyboard to a PC via USB a friend suggested making a keyboard from scratch.

So i got my thinking cap on....

I have designed a prototype Amiga USB Keyboard and am getting prices from companies that provide prototype Injection Moulding processes.

There will be 2 versions of the final keyboard Crystal White and Matt Black The keyboards will have the amiga keysets and connect via a USB interface. It will also have 2 additional USB connectors built in, for attaching other USB devices.

As soon as the final prototype design has been submitted i will submit the images here.

I will keep you all informed of the progress of the project as i get to any major milestones.

Update 1

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I have been moving house and been stressed to the hills...

Anyway I just thought I would give you an update as its been a while.

I have 2 Amiga keyboard that I have ripped the insides out of and interfaced into a USB prototype board. I am now working on converting the serial signal from the keyboard to USB signals so that I will connect to a Amiga USB / PC etc. I had it plugged into my PC and shows up as "Amiga Keyboard HID" but there is still allot of work to be done.

As for the case for the keyboard, a friend of mine got in touch with a friend of his etc. etc. who works for a local injection moulding firm and he is getting back to me with some (special) prices.

I'm hoping that all the favors will keep the price down as low as possible but will have to keep our fingers crossed.

Thanks
