Let me comment as the post on ebay is mine.

The cost of shipping to Canada Post is not 30, but just above half that according to what Canada Post quoted me. There is also the cost of driving to the post office twice: one to weigh and get dimensions for an estimated cost and the other for sending it off. Gas is certainly not cheap here 1.21/litre = I am looking at 10 per trip and two trips. There is also the purchase of shrink wrap and other items needed to secure the package -- not always goign with the smallest box -- I'd rather get it there in one piece.

Now granted, there are those of you out there that say, yes, but it is still rather high. And to you I would say yes. However, look at the big picture, which one fine person stated far down in the thread: $30 + $50 (starting bid) = $80. This is not unrealistic. Imagine what you want to pay, subtract the shipping and then you know your limit. Depending on the rpice of the item, I will pad the shipping a bit in order to protect against a bad bidding session.

Believe me folks, bad sessions do happen. I also have an A3000 with a large hard drive, OS3.1 roms and such and the shipping in North America is $90. The cost about 50... so a starting bid of 50 + ~30 left on shipping (after that other stuff I mentioned) means that if all turns bad, I at least get $80 after all is said and done.

Seriously, is anyone goign to pay for the goods if the intrinsic value is exceeded? Know that when you purchase through businesses that these people ship all the time and know the ins and outs and have all the right shipping materials for the right size products. For those willing to pick up the products -- and there are many -- savings are there to be made.

Oh, and the comment about sniffing... well was very tired that day due to a medical procedure I was about to undergo... meant sniping.... anyhows, sniffing is a "word" used to refer to snif hunting --> is not a real animal, its often used to refer to going to the bar without saying so -- its actually a word I learned in Kentucky.

Remember: If (Shipping + Product costs) > (going market rates) THEN (Stay away, don't buy). I think my starting bids are never in the crazy zone.

FINAL NOTE: If the floppies sell, I have a few boxes of original software i am willing to sell for a $1000 ;) *me hopes everyone gets this joke*
