Off-topic:
No they're just Open-source, as in you can grab the source and do with it as you like. Of course there's a BIG linux movement that is driving the development of drivers etc but that doesn't prevent you from getting THEIR sourcecode and doing the same thing

still off-topic:
DOSBOX requirements suggest that it only requires libsdl in order to compile and run on a system with a decent compiler like gcc. It looks like it run about as well as a 386 on a 500Mhz mac and thus we'd probably be looking at signifcantly poorer performance even for this with a PPC.
