Can't help with the "Beneath the weight of 15 disks" but the syndicate game should be simple enough. The route planning for the cars was pretty simple and the best way to force it to go where you want is to plan the route for it
As the car goes along click down each of the roads you want it to turn down, also make sure you're clicking on the correct side of the road or it once again gets confused.
It's not really enough to just click on the final destination of the car as the limited CPU time didn't allow them to put in full path finding algorithms it seems.
