When all the secession petitions were floated, Austin's residents asked if they could secede from Texas and remain part of the United States.

I love those people.

If I were a Texan living in Austin, I'd secede from Austin and remain part of Texas.

This is getting confusing.
Can a person secede from the location that they are in?

If I was to declare the state of Confederate Austin and appointed a government, why not?
Happened a few times in US history, as far as I know.

I'd, of course, legalise slavery, so I could have my own personal troop of underpaid workforce, ready to seek and repair new and used Amiga hardware whenever I tell them to.
