I feel bad for some of these sellers -- in particular, those who really don't know anything about what they're selling.  They get some friend or family member who tells them that stuff from the 80s is worth thousands of dollars/pounds/euros and they believe them.

Where I lose my patience is when they cannot be bothered to do the real research themselves.  I recently sold a Cisco PIX 501 with unlimited users for which we paid $850 about six years ago.  They're all still good and usable units but quick research showed they couldn't sell for much over $150.  Mine wound up selling for $50.

You know, sadly, it is not an ultimate A4000T:  I have one still stored in its original box from SoftwareHut, with never used mouse, keyboard, floppy disks, switch keys and stand, that only came out of the box last year to be made up with a CSPPC 233/50, Mediator (Radeon 9200, sil3114ide, ESS-1 Solo sound, 8029RTL), Deneb, ZorRam 256MB, Indivision AGA MK2, DVD-RW, Mech's SCSI card reader and dual boots off a Maxtor Atlas U320 36 GB HDD into OS 3.9 and 4.1.

Here we have the next description for the fraudster to use ;)

A working Commodore C65 is for auction on eBay

I still kick myself.  Grapevine group had a bunch of these for between $200 and $400 back around 1995-ish.  I could have bought one, but I figured it would be useless.  UGH!

This one is interesting:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commodore-Amiga-4000-A4000-68040-/321107897291

He states a left-click of the mouse causes a Guru.  While I'm not going to be buying this, I'm intrigued by the idea of what could cause a crash like that from a simple mouse click.  Of course, I'm missing other information like the conditions under which it happens (in Workbench, in the Early Startup, and whatever.)  Anyone have ideas?

No, the idiot is the buyer; but with free shipping for a page torn from a magazine, it may be a bargain.

It kills me how much adverts and catalogs sell for.  I wonder if free shipping on the page will include an envelope large enough to ship it without being damaged or just tri-folded into an envelope.

Golden Gate Vortex 486 SLC just sold for almost $400.  Nice snag.

What would be THE REAL benefit of having the Bridgeboard card VS SBC (Single Board Computer) with same or better specs?
$400 vs $100 for SBC.

I hate those type of people who think that others are far to stupid as to PAY.
GREED some people over rate what they have, its a sick world we live in.
Ask a reasonable price yes of course but some of the prices are just plain GREEDY.

I don't invest emotionally in the issue.  On the one hand I know that most of these peoples' greed will not be rewarded as reasonable people will ignore the auctions, though there will be a couple of suckers, mostly people of the same caliber as the seller.

On the other hand, I am disappointed to know that some of these people throw tantrums when no one gives into their absurd asking prices and simply destroy the equipment.

Over all, though, people who are not simply delusional and legitimately scam like this do not gain monetary richness and remain morally bankrupt.

Man, I must seem like a luddite sitting happily with my 10Mb connection.  The only time it's a problem for me is when I want to move a multi-GB ISO to a site where I'm working.  It's even worse when I'm on the road and using my 3.6Mb (really 3.0Mb since I access that over Bluetooth) HSDPA connection.

"Collectors only."  Well, I suppose that justifies it.

I saw that listing to.   It was insanity for the price. I thought they would stop prices like that.

"They" whom?  Why?  Let people sink on their own.  He's not ripping off anyone but himself or some dumb schmuck who falls for it.
