100% working guarantee!!

Dirty secret is that over this coming weekend I may be inspired to fix the broken capacitor and also drag out a system to test it.  I want this in a good home, not in the trash.[/strike]

I got a bug up my butt over the weekend and decided to test this unit out.  I used a 500 and it kept rebooting during AutoConfig.  I replaced two capacitors on the upper-deck and re-flowed solder on another on the main board.  Same behavior.  Pulled out and re-assembled my 1000 to stock spec -- same problem.

There appear to be some jumper settings I need to make it work, but I believe that, based upon some readings, the RAM on the board may be bad.  Additionally, connecting the FPU module prevents the system from entering Kickstart at all.

The system will boot if a jumper is placed across the middle jumper pair, which appears to be a disable jumper as no memory is added to the system and neither is the clock or SCSI controller.

So, I have ended the auction listing.  Instead, I am going to offer it here before listing it on eBay again as-is.

Here's what you get:

Starboard 2 board with upper-deck, total of 2MB RAM.
Metal side-car case with pass-through cover.
Stardrive module with what may or may not be the correct SCSI narrow-to-DB25 cable and broken battery holder.
FPU module, which appears to cause the system to hang.
The broken capacitor previously noted, and another which snags on the metal case during insertion and removal, have been replaced.
StarDrive 1.5 installation floppy.

I'm pretty bummed about this, but at least I spent a lot of my time testing it out before inconveniencing someone else and having to go through the whole refund and return shipping bit.  It was a great and reliable piece of hardware in its day.

Do you have photos of the side car case?
If I set up the starboard it has a passthrough for other side car's?

I had some in the auction, but I actually deleted the originals afterward.  I can take more, but the short is, yes, the side-car box has a pass-through.  I believe there are pictures on the Internet somewhere, but I will have a buddy take some pro-quality pics for posterity.

I have had two PMs about buying this as-is: one AO user and the bidder on the original auction.  I am apt to allow the bidder on the original auction to make an offer, then fall back on the AO user.  I hope no one is put off by this.
