Interesting.  I am not convinced that a SCSI interface is the best idea, though, even with a SCSI->SATA adapter, the price of a hard drive goes up a bit.  My suggestion would be a small IDE interface, or better a 2.5" SATA interface.  A clean-up of the chips might give enough room to actually rest the hard drive on the board to slide into the SATA port, like some of the USB enclosures.  A CF interface would be cool, too, but perhaps feature-creep.

A USB interface would be nice to have, something like a built-in Deneb.  A lot of work to make this board Zorro III, would it be?

hrmmmm  Very cool, indeed.  Looking forward to updates.

Not my place to criticise but wouldn't it make sense to join forces with the NatAmi project so we can actually get something out there? Better to release a single product rather than nothing at all?

Anyway i think it's great someone is releasing something for classic Amiga. Might consider one of these instead of the NatAmi ;)

I'd say it's actually better to have multiple projects where different people with different ideas can work independently, that way ideas aren't lost in compromise.  Someone else down the road could pick up and make decisions or compromises between two or more projects to make a derivative.
