Re: AFA OS 4.7 release

I am trying to keep my cluttered Amiga installation, which has followed me for probably 15 years now from one computer to the next.  If AfA_OS works as described, and I have no reason to doubt it will, I should not ever need to uninstall it.  However, if I needed to do so, it appears from what I read that uninstallation is easy and clean.  Is this a correct assumption?

Very correct mate.
You just delete the folder that you've installed AfA_OS, you also remove the AfA_OS_Libs folder, C:Morelibspace and C:AfA_OS_Loader (along with their declarations from S-S), the TTF Fonts installed and the skins from Presets iirc. That's all :)

Excellent.  It does help keep my clutter to a minimum.  (I meant to say I was trying to keep my 15 year old installation uncluttered.  Ah, well!)  I think I'll take the leap tonight and install it.  Is anyone aware of any conflicts or issues with wedges like PowerIcons, IconBFast, etc?  I assume (again) the functionality of AfA_OS replaces that of PowerIcons.

powericons is to show png icons? if so then yes, btw just read the included doku. anyway i would make a backup of this 15 years old install, if i was you.

I have backups, I just hate having to restore them :)  Anyway, I have been reading the documentation, but lately my mental prowess has been near nill.  Probably not the best time to implement new things, but I am compelled to keep from being bored.

WB3.5 icon transparencies
« Reply #3 on: April 24, 2010, 02:32:35 AM »
I noticed since installing AfA, 3.5 icons no longer have a transparency when dragging or when missing a matching .info (RAmiga-+ view in drawers.)

My LoadWB command does not have simplegels set, which if I understand correctly causes this in a standard installation.

Is this normal behavior?

EDIT: Before I get jumped, this may have been a feature of PowerIcons.  I am going to go check on some documentation -- it has been so long since I ran a vanilla installation of OS3.9 I simply cannot remember.

3.5 Icons have no transparency

Yup.  I found that in the PowerIcons docs that it gives transparency to 3.5 while dragging, and also gives transparency to def icons.  I kinda liked that.
