Such shining examples of intellect usually describe themselves (with no apparent regard for the actual meaning of the words) as "random", "mad" and/or "bubbly", when in fact "disorganised", "irritating" and "obnoxious" would respectively suit them better.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  :roflmao:

TOO TRUE!  Mind you, that extends well beyond adolescence, my friend.  If you're in your thirties and dating, it's not much different.

I'm too lazy to scan through to see if I already answered this... I have a MySpace page that I put together so I could keep up with my family and cousins (a lot of whom are under 18, so you have to have a profile,) but then found that several colleagues and former high school classmates also have pages.  It's a pretty good idea, if you either limit yourself to people you know or have the patience to wade through the drivel.

LoadWB's MySpace Page

There's some Amiga-related stuff there, but I took most of my things down as I was preparing to delete the page (long story, not worth telling.)  I'm in the process of putting it back up.  But I do have a number of my rants there...  everyone's entitled to my opinion ;-)

Bah, should be called WASTEOF(My)Space...

So messy-looking and pretty pointless, I reckon...

Most of what it does can be achieved with an IM and email...

I guess it's just an advertising site which appeals to people who think it's "kewl"... LAME!

Unless family and friends have IM and email addresses which change like underwear, but they all have a web browser.

Really, the idea is quite keen: a single place for pictures, videos, 'blogs (I really hate that term,) in a more passive format than email.  My cousins and other family members can browse my page at any time of the day and see what's going on.  It really does beat sending emails out to a butt-load of people, some of whose email addresses are no good, or the box is full, etc.  This way the effort is on their part: all I have to do is make a quick post, and blammo, done.

As for the advertisements, I never see them.  Between AdBlock, FlashBlock, and NoScript, I don't see crap I don't want to see.  Makes my MySpace experience, and web experience as a whole, much better.
