Or you can talk your ISP into setting up a dial-up account which connects to the Q-Link server :-)  I can actually connect to Q-Link with my real 64 with a real modem.  Ummm, of course I haven't had time to play with this since I did it last year.  Once I move into the house I will be digging everything back out again.

<- BungeeJmp, Forager, and I'm pretty sure I tied down LoadWB on QLR.  I lived on Q-Link for many years, up until the unceremonious shut down.  I still have a big F&*@! YOU for AOL over that.

I heard that when QLink was killed, all the files were deleted. What files are on QLR?

If they weren't just flat out lost as the equipment began to die.  IIRC from my last contact with QLR, they are trying to rebuild the file areas with whatever people leeched from QLink before it shutdown.  I have several 1581 disks full of Q-Link files, but no associated information on them to tell what they are.  My master plan is/was to email the disk images to JB and let him or someone volunteer to sort them.  (We'll see how much I get done after the move.)

There's a good bit of AOL/QLink history out there.  But it looks like the QLR website is down :-?  Damn, I've been out of touch too long...

Speaking of NovaTerm, anyone know if Nick Rossi is still available these days?  I paid and registered NovaTerm way way back when (#0012, baby!)  For a while we exchanged emails on programming when I began working on my BBS software, which I wrote to be compatible with his file transfer protocols in the interim of writing my own.

I should also mention that it does NOT have anything to do with AOL, it's a hobby project. So please, no one call AOL insisting you want to sign up for Q-Link

But if you do, make sure you record the conversation and post it here for us to enjoy
