In the past, I've had really heavy 17" CRT monitors on my 2000/3000/4000's before. Never a problem, but I always made sure the footing underneath the CPU's were nice. I pretty much always replaced 'em out of necessity, but I'd "enhance" their functionality by adding one the the middle of the case. More piece of mind I guess when you have such heavy components stacked atop.
