looking for a particular demo
« on: April 23, 2010, 05:39:43 PM »
Anyone remember this one demo where there was a rotating cube, with different graphics on each side and played a kick ass (really fast) rendition of what sounded like it could be from The Phantom of the Opera? I don't remember too much else about it, 'cept maybe it featured the Green Acres theme song w/ samples of their voices....  Or was that a different demo?

This would have been late 80's, very early 90's...

No, this was not a cracked or pirate thing at all. It was a real legitimate demo that was quite long (one disk I believe though). And never heard of Pouet. Will have to look into that sometime... thanks!

You where not talking about this 40k work from Razor 1911 for ECS Amiga?

Okay... so my computer wants to save these files as a .txt file. I've download stuff like this before (where in the browser, it shows all the binary/hex stuff), but it helps to know what the file format is. ADF by any chance? Guess I'll give that a try...

-edit-

Nope, these are not .adf files  :(

@Einstein... you saying the programs off this site require a video player? What kind? Is it available for a computer that was produced on planet Earth for humans? lol

The Demo I am looking for came on a magazine disk that I bought in a retail store I believe, else I wouldn't have had it. I was hardly into the BBS scene in the late 80's, so highly doubt it came off the 'net' back then.

Okay, got that figured out, thanks halvliter'n.

@som99.... that certainly is NOT the demo. First off, it's a reggae tune (slow as shit) and the cube is a LARGE lame ass dot matrix type thing. The Demo I am thinking of is a small cube, solid, rotates extremely slow or quick to the music, has different impressive graphics on each side and plays a much funkier and upbeat type of tune...

Night night

Thanks my Demo connection from Sweden  :)   I actually recorded the audio of this demo to tape and currently have it (just have to narrow it down) in audiophile form. Recorded using a Nakamichi, Dolby C, Maxell MX tape and all that good stuff. When I find the tape, I'll make a (insert your favorite compression scheme here) file out of it if I can't get her narrowed down.
