Wow... Yeah, I'd say you got a helluva deal there!

Refreshing (or not) to see Americans aren't the only dickheads on ePay though. Nice ad buddy! All caps and a monstrous sized font. lol

I couldn't get through the entire ad without being annoyed, but didn't see mention of specs. Ram, HD, etc. Wouldn't it be nice to find a 1260 under the hood? I'm guessing someone with the wherewith all to use and purchase one of those, would have written a more civilized ad though. lmao

Yeah, what's the hullabaloo about? Someone forwarded what I said to the seller? Or he just happened to see it on Amiga.ORB?  lmao

Wasn't trying to be malicious on a personal level - but the ad is what it is.

Oh yes there is. I just got it given to me by a neighbour.

It smells like cat piss like you wouldn't beleave. Would have been nice of him to let me know. How do you get cat piss smell out of an amiga?

ROTFLMAO!!!

I wonder if that was a post or precondition type of thing? I'm with you though, I'd be pissed (pun intended).

Try douching her down with some Summers Eve, err... I mean, Febreeze. You guys have that kind of thing over there?  Also, on a serious note - I've had extremely good luck putting cases AND keyboards in the dishwasher. Just make sure they sit on the highest rack and that you don't over dry 'em. While that's only used as a last resort, never had a problem refurbishing old electronics and cases that way. Even PCB boards can be given that treatment if you're careful and be sure to fully dry before plugging in.

Irrelevant. The rude comments were made before you knew about that. If I was in his position I'd be quite upset to read comments like that on a forum, and to be honest I'd probably be tempted to piss on it too.

Oh c'mon -now that's an even less mature stance to take. You can't be serious.

Truth is, it is kind of embarrassing that the thread was discovered. I'm embarrassed for my comment(just hate seeing ads like that), Hell_labs and now this. It's just not cool or mature. But the fact remains, the ad was terribly written, he could have gotten more for his stuff had it been better read and now there's the ethical question of just what the seller actually did to the unit before shipment.

In any event - chalk this up to experience I guess. Bad or good, depending on your point of view. Either way, ePay sucks and Hell_Labs ignored a couple of red flags with this purchase, banking on the expectation that he was getting a "good" deal. So much for that prospect!

I don't know about that version, but there's Puc-Man from '96 that's excellent. Even maintains the proper vertical aspect ratio of the arcade instead of being all stretched out. You should be able to find it fairly easy by Googling or whatever if you don't already have it. I know there's a WHDLoad version of it...

The pac man game is called "pacman 96". I'm about to put the case in a bath full of soapy water, once I get this last rusty screw out. Anyone got any experiance with pulling the caps off an 1200 keyboard? It seems to be put together a bit different than el cheapo PC keyboard.

Ahh.... so it has been lingering in a crummy environment all this time if the screws are rusty. The keyboard keys just pop off is all. I think there's only metal brackets for the space bar, shift and return keys. Those can be a little tricky re-installing.

Since you got such a good deal on the package and he apparently didn't have his cats purposely spray on your stuff, maybe the nice thing to do would be to send him some air freshener for the house and a coupon to a pampered kitty spa or something?

I don't know what exactly it is with some cat owners, if it's the cats themselves or how well or not they're maintained, but I dated a gal once that (believe it or not), had this cat odor about her. Totally pretty gal mind you - but that litterbox smell permeated her entire being. Only got through a date or two before I couldn't stand it. Her house smelled like it too, so did her mother and her auto. Yes, there were cats, but the place wasn't all gross, hairy or whatever. Odd, odd stuff. I have one cat and you wouldn't even be able to tell I have one unless you saw her. Bathed her twice in 4 years (whores bath, not even a true water/shampoo dunking), feed her Wysong food and use a 'green' (like wooden saw dust), no clay based cat litter. Oh and she's been fixed. Maybe that's the difference. If your cats aren't spayed or neutered, they'll want to spray their scent all over the place in an attempt to mark "their" territory. But back to the litterbox... can't stand the silica (or whatever) dust most of the cheap stuff is comprised of AND it's been known to give 'em cancer. A little FYI for anyone with cats that would like to investigate that...

It's even funner when some girls smell like funky cats and wear black with all the cat hairs on their cloths. I like cats but jeeeezzz.

I've know some folks that smell like wet dogs and tehy're cool with it.
LOL!  I use the wet dog analogy all the time to describe the smell of sooooo many of the natives around here in WI. To compound matters, almost everyone smokes and wears Carthart or those stupid puffy skiing type coats (even though they don't ski)... so yeah - there you have it... a cigarette smoking dog that has been left out in the rain wearing cotton so that the funkiness stays with 'em no matter where they go. Those people just must be so used to their own funk - to NOT get it. lol

Oh and yeah, what's with women and their friggin' pets laying on them all the time OR their furniture?? Especially gross when they let them sit up near their faces when sleeping. Yuck.

May as well change the thread title to: "Pet lovers unite"!

Not just pet owners who smell.  Been to many an Amiga user group over the years and I can tell you that as a general group personal hygiene is not something they do well.  LOL

That seems to be true of a large percentage of video game/computing fanatics. No doubt! Pretty remedial stuff when you're wondering why you haven't landed a date for the past 20 years. lmao
