Q: Nice images for display on real Amiga's
« on: February 21, 2010, 10:12:00 PM »
Howdy!

Finally setup a nice little table in the basement with a couple of Amiga's on it. Partly for display purposes, mostly for gaming and also what I'd like to do is be able to demonstrate some of the graphics capabilities of the two machines (a 68k A1000 and my 060 equipped ECS A2500) using some well rendered Amiga native files - such as HAM, IFF, etc. Before I go scrounging around on Aminet or elsewhere, I was wondering if someone here had any recommendations of convenient downloads where several images could be snagged at a time. I already have plenty of generic stuff scattered about on disks, but they're quite random and vary in quality. Looking for an archive of goodies of images such as the ones from the NewTek demos, astronomy, Star Trek, architecture, hi-fi gear, classic computing, autos and the like.

Whoa, that pic is really pretty!  I know, I know... don't currently have an AGA machine, but took an offer on my A1200 I couldn't resist  :)

I just (re)discovered I have an Aminet 16 CD. Haven't played around with it since I had a CD32 waaay back when. Anyway, it's slick as snot! 1 button presses to access the familiar looking Aminet website layout... damn cool. Wouldn't mind getting more of these CD's. I bet they're "out there" to be had too  :)

AGA is impressive for sure. Lovely stuff. Just want to push my OCS and ECS machines to the limit. I do have a graphics card for my A2500, but no VGA monitor hooked to it at the moment and besides, I always felt like that was "cheating"...  lol

Good stuff, Bigbronc!

 @Save2600: nice TRS-80. Which model?

That be a Model III and I can't believe how many arcade type games were released for it! Donkey Kong, Space Invaders and a multitude of others, not to mention many of the text adventures. Decent gameplay and graphics to boot on those arcade games! Was the very first computer I ever laid my hands on. Had 'em in grade school/Jr. High and learned BASIC and other computer firsts on it. Great little system  :)
