Hell Labs, do you have to be so ignorant in every post you make on this forum? The CDTV had some very well made and informative video ads made for it that explain the many uses it had as a multimedia entertainment system with the ability to easily turn it into a fully functioning home computer. Just have a look on YouTube maybe before coming back with comments you know are going to piss off most of the people on this forum (like nearly everything you have ever posted on Amiga.org).

BTW: I'm not "pissed" by Hell Labs posts, but it would be nice to hear a little bit of the background - as to why he feels the way he does about things, considering his retrospective banter which is probably more introspective than anything. Sounds like he might be in his early 20's though as he extrapolates much. A lot of younger internet guys are desperately trying to re-writing classic gaming and computer history that way. BUT... in his defense, CDTV was marketed horribly here in the States - almost nonexistent. In fact, Philips CD-i had an even better clue that way, but no surprise there really, considering the megacorp that they are. No, Commodore mucked the marketing up big time here anyway. Europe (for sure) and maybe even Australia might have had more attention paid that way when it came to certain products - but certainly not here in the land of the free and brave.

You know, I have been lusting after one of those black floppies for a long time.  I recall the beige model was the 1011, what is the model of the black drive?  I really cannot explain why I want one.  That and a black keyboard.  *sigh*

Vinyl dye works amazingly well, too - like it came that way from the factory.
