Looks exactly like the 6-button Sega Genesis control pads of yore. I have several of those and use 'em all the time on my Amigas. Best damn pads to be sure. I am told though, that you need this special adapter cable in order to take advantage of the 2nd firing button. This is confirmed as not even the Sega joypad program from Aminet "activates" any of the other buttons. Even the readme file mentions an adapter. Those adapters can be bought from Best Electronics though and cost around $11 IIRC. No need to monkey around with USB either as these are DB9 friendly.

Like save2600 said, it's a standard DB9F.  Connects directly to the Amiga's joystick port.

No, I wasn't commenting on the one pictured... that does indeed look like a mini-usb plug. I was talking about the DB9 compatible Sega/Megadrive pads with the 'Best Electronics' adapter.

If that generic looking Sega 6-button pad is indeed DB9, perhaps the plug is tipped on its side? Sure does look USB to me too though... but if you're using it with a Miggy - has got to be DB9  :-)

Awesome! If I didn't already have a bevy of NOS 6-button Sega pads, I'd surely have gone for this. Funny how the first pic though looked like it was terminated mini-usb. lol   Thanks for clarifying!

Are you 100% sure about that?  I`m 99% sure the second fire button doesn`t work unless you mod the controller...

I'm with Tension here. Feeling rather retarded and having drunk many pints up to this very moment, I am quite sure a resistor or other line needs to be tapped in order to enable the 2nd fire button on a Genesis pad...

Something else that needs to be brought to attention Re: the 6-button pad... there is an I.C. resident, where - you need to hold in the 'Mode' button upon bootup that allows the gamepad to be "read" as a 'standard' 3-button Genesis pad. Sorry... MegaDrive... lol  (what a stupid name Sega!)

What's nice about those pads compared to a Genesis/Mega Drive controller is how much more discreet the directions are. In other words, on a standard 3-button Mega Drive controller, you oft times accidentally 'jump' when you meant to just go right. Sega Master System pads are the worst yet. Horrible design IMHO.

Still don't know why Cammy has good luck playing 2 button games on a Sega pad though without using an adapter or patch somewhere... I've only ever been able to use 1-button (B) on my Miggy's. I think that's what some are saying is "strange"...
