A1000 CF<>IDE & DJbase KS adapter install and no worky now :-(

DUH... I must be blind this morning. I hate working on this stuff before beer time  ;-)

Anyone else have this installed in their A1000? I'd like to hear about your setups. I'm about to perform a Kickstart 3.1 upgrade at the same time. Anyone have an IDE ribbon cable coming out of their machine? If so, where'd you route it?

You setup sounds real nice Jeff. On the newer revisions, the CF card slot is attached right to the damn board  :-(  I'd love a removable setup like you have more. Also, with the way it sits now, the CF card actually interferes with the support for the Disk Drive. I'm going to take my soldering iron and 'cut' away part of my card so it sits in there more properly.

Oh no! After installation... machine does not boot  :-(  I get a red screen, machine resets, maybe a bluish-purple screen and then some distorted garbage and then back to red. Time to double check my wiring - but it *should* be right!  :-(

Instructions are a little cryptic. Where they tell you to create a jumper, I did that, but then there is an 'x' and it says to cut. Well, my board did NOT have a jumper to cut - does he mean you must cut the trace there? If so, I've done that also to no avail.

Double checked everything and it's all according to instructions. Red screen and reset all_day_long. Not happy that I hacked my A1000 now at all. Especially considering the CF/IDE thing gets in the way of the disk drive! WTF? I want my money back! lol  So you need a riser for this in order for the disk drive and CF adapter to barely fit or what?
