How do I mount SCSI HD on my A1000?

Pardon the interjection, but yeah, looks like there is just the manual and software (simple mem test?) for the Starboard, not the SCSI module.

Since the software seems pretty elusive, I bet that thing autoconfigs?!? Have you tried renaming the device driver from scsi.device to something more logical for that unit? For example: stardrivescsi.device, or something similar? Have you tried a program that searches for device names yet? ScsiInquire might do the trick...

(I just caught the Starboard II thread. Looks like there *might* be a driver disk yet for the SCSI module?)  Good luck! Wish

Thanks for the tease  ;-)   I saw that, but they're sold out, are they not?  Usually when it
comes to stuff like this, they're made in limited quantities, sell out fast and the designer
claims they'll make more someday but never do  :-(

I don't see a way to order or get a hold of the designer on either page...

I found in a thread somewhere that the device is named "stardrive.device".  Say I do rename scsi.device to that...what then?  I'm not even sure the specs of the MicroNet ext SCSI drive I have for it -- 1GB maybe.  How do I get it mounted, formatted?

The device uses the AMD (NCR orig) 5380...

If you're sure the device name is stardrive.device, yes - rename scsi.device in whatever
program your using to mount and you should be able to access, initialise, partition and
format the drive then.

Does the install put an icon in the expansion drawer of Workbench 1.3? I remember
the gvpscsi needing to do that.

Also, you may have issues with the grounding of your side expansion port to the mobo
AND the daughterboard or improper +5v going to it. There are mods and text out there
explaining what many A1000's need in order for the side expansion bus to work.

Some entail soldering wires between a few PAL chips on the daughterboard...
