Women and computing
« on: April 12, 2009, 04:44:05 AM »
I just read a post that exclaimed that their wife used to have a Mac back in the day. Some of us have known several women "back in the day" that had Mac's... but how many of you have ever known the fairer sex to own Amiga's? Truly owned them (not property of their fathers or brothers). From the pics you see in these conventions and the like, I'm guessing very few. I know I would have felt a gal was especially 'special' if she had ever been into the Amiga.

Kiki doesn't count  ;-)    LOL!

Linky to Kiki's current whereabouts

Fairer sex? Pha!

Women are sooooo overrated...

LOL! What's wrong with the cutie on the right? Is that a purse in her lap or some kind of chastity protection scheme to fend off tow truck drivers?

Ahh yes, gratuitous exploitation of Eurotrash. lol  We've got tons of examples, just like the Tokkies here in Wisconsin U.S.A. Sometimes it's entertaining to turn OFF the tele and turn ON the police scanner.  lol

BTW: I guess that chick on the right is the GF of the son. So she's not related yet at least. And she -still- looks cute, at least by that profile by gum! What, is she missing teeth or something? For comparisons sake, I should take some random pics of the shebeasts® draggin their knuckles around here for you. To say that femininity has not reached certain parts of WI would be an understatement    :-(

Oh man, the cell phone thing with women is rampant here too. I'm not for all these idiotic laws and mandates, but if they would banish phones from public existence, that would be for the betterment of all mankind (people think it strange when I tell them I refuse to own one). And this texting business is beyond ridiculous. Definitely worth PM'ing about  ;-)   Many women en masse do seem to be going out of their way to become less attractive as the decades pass. The pickins are gettin' slim (how's that for a pun)! In their slight defence, they probably no longer know how or care to conduct themselves ladylike, with having been treated poorly by douchebags most of their lives. We've all seen pretty women mismatched with knobs. But that's a whole other chapter!  lol

Oh - and do many European women walk around looking like they just got out of bed? That's the big "fad" over here right now. Instead of properly doing their hair, they simply ball and tie it up while wearing pajamas and slippers as they go about their day. Idiotic guys are now starting to follow that trend too, but they're usually the same kind of dolts that wear socks and sandals at the same time too.

Idiocracy rocks and albeit over the top, is a clear indication of where we are heading and in some respects, already are. Same with that newish Disney movie starring the robot Wall-E. Very dark and dismal look at the future. Was kind of surprised Disney packaged it that way. Great movie though.

And about women and computing... not single per se myself and my GF *is* into playing games on it, but was just curious to see how many people were aware of female users back when the Amiga was a contender once. Glad to hear there seems to be a healthy handful, but they all seem to be from outside the U.S.  :-(   Women with a clue outside the U.S.? Now there's a novel concept  ;-)
