Just saw the new movie today. In a word: WOW!!
Totally exceeded my expectations. Completely. ONLY flaw has to do with the way the action scenes were filmed. Typical modern, ADD, camera too close and jittery, but that's a flaw aimed at and by this younger generation.
Incredible film otherwise. TONS of attention paid to detail and I absolutely LOVE the alternate reality take. Totally refreshing to see talent that had little to nothing to do with the Star Trek universe make such an talented and accurate impact. I would LOVE to see this particular series continue. Even the sound track excelled. J.J. Abrams - my hat is off to you. You blew the LOST series (IMO), but the casting, directing and story lines here were TIP TOP. Again - WOW.
