can i use a flickerfixer/scandoubler?
« on: March 26, 2009, 02:59:50 PM »
i have an amiga 600 w/ WB 3.1.

my primary use for it is ProTracker, and a GVP DSS8+ sound sampling app. i hooked up the amiga to my lcd monitor (vga adapter) and everything looks fine in ntsc mode at 640x200 non-laced. however pal mode clips off the bottom part of the screen 640x256. using Overscan i can adjust it slightly, but it still clips approx. 30 pixels or so.

for the DSS8+ app its not a big deal because you can select ntsc or pal. but protracker doesn't have an ntsc option and the areas that it clips off are important.

actually protracker > v3.15 has an ntsc option where it will scroll the screen for you... but versions +3.xx are buggy and i prefer using 2.3.

my question is: will a flickerfixer/scandoubler fix the clipping off of pal resolutions (non-laced)?

i dont get any flickering at all unless i select laced modes... but the apps i run set their own display mode anyway (non-laced).

hope this post is clear... i can post some pics if necessary when i get home. thanx!

thanx.

my monitor is an NEC AccuSync 51VM. there is no screen stretch option :( only position, and horizontal size - no vertical size.

so with a ff/scandoubler the areas will still clip? anyone with one know for sure?
