SCA80 interface is designed for wide-ultra (or ultra-wide) drives, ie 16bit.
The Amiga SCSI HBAs are almost all 8bit- the exceptions of the WarpEngine and Cyberstorm PPC, that I know of.
Any narrow-wide adaptor requires the high byte to be terminated. UW SCSI also requires the chain is active terminated, and ideally the last device supplies TERM power. You many also need to short the DLY jumper.
Ideally, use the jumper pads on the device itself rather than on an adapter.
I never had any issues with UW drives (HD68pin or 80pin SCA interfaces) on a narrow controller such as that on the GVP G-Force030/33.
edit: is this the only device on the chain?
edit2: some scsi info - which I wrote 18 years ago??!!! Time flies!
