sweet, welcome back , holms! BTW I also collect SGI (octane's mainly) check www.neckochan.net for info on that O2 you have.  You can ask me too, but I'm no genius.... anyway, amigas are tons of fun, what kind of stuff are you interested in?

SGI gear is all over eBay, cheap... sometimes cheaper than amiga stuff.  Let me know if you are serious.  the real problems with SGI is that you have to know what your doing, installing the OS can be serious buisiness.. as is finding software.  The hardware is cheap.  Again take a look at www.nekochan.net, it a cool site, they can converted many linux apps to IRIX and there are many experts there.  It can be confusing becasue there are tons of variations on hardware.  I like the octane and octane2... skip the o2.. the indigo2 is a great classic box and dirt cheap.  The amiga is in so many wasy the little bother of the SGI gear.  YOu can run lightwave 5.6 and tv paint on IRIX,  it so niffty.  Also blender is still prted to IRIX.  Anyway they are very cool machines , esp of your an amiga person looking from something a bit more powerfull.
