 The 1084(S) use a TDA2611 as power amplifier chip. Expect to find two of those inside the case.

 It is the only semiconductor on the audio circuit, so you can expect three problems in the circuit:

 1- "Burned" audio chip (TDA2611);

 2- Broken loudspeaker or its cable;

 3- A bad potentiometer.

 This is the probably problem sources in highest order.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

 The original 1084S uses the said TDA2611 (mono versions).

 Maybe they use another power amplifier chip on stereo models (I just have one schematic here). Chip is IC301 on it.

 It uses an odd 16 Ohms x 3W, accordingly to the schematic.

 Better take the original out of the case and bring it with you to an electronic parts store.

 Better than that, use a real stereo amplifier with your Amiga, you don't regret it.
