AFAIK, using the CF cards on Amiga only works with just one CF on the IDE chain. The Amiga simply refuses to boot if a CD-ROM (marked as slave) is connected.

Maybe two CF could work, if the problem lies in the speed of response of old firmware devices (like CD and HDs).

Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

I once used to have external hard disk and CD-ROM drives, connected to the A1200's IDE port with a (not so) long cable, and they worked fine: hard drive as master, CD-ROM as slave.

I still use the internal HD and an external DVD in my setup. What I was saying is the Amiga refuses to boot with a CF card as master and another device as slave. But with two CF seems to work ok.

That's caused by differences in response time, I guess.
