Doubt about APPE Playstation Interface
« on: August 07, 2007, 09:16:40 PM »
Does anybody else make that APPE interface (3.1 version, IIRC)on Aminet.

I have a doubt how to connect the "right" wire on the Amiga side (the schematics show two "right" wires), who is the "right" RIGHT?

I tried to contact the author, but no luck in this. I think the email adress is no good anymore.

Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Look in GFX/PSXTOJOY_SQ.IFF .. Pin 10 of the PIC is right and pin 4 of the db9 is right. Connect those together?

Please rephrase your question if I answered to something you didn't ask.

If you look carefully, you'll see TWO (!) "RIGHT"s (pins 7 AND 10 from the PIC16F84) coming out... (at least in APPE3.x):-?

Looking in the first version of the adaptor, only pin 7 is translated to "right".

So I wonder: the most recent version of the interface have two "rights" on the PIC in order to adapt some sort of "dual" joystick (regular 3 buttons AND CD32 Joy)?

Why use v3.1 when you can use v3.2?

http://aminet.net/package/docs/hard/appe_v32

The schematics are fixed in that version.

HOWEVER

If in v3.1 you had just looked in BIN/APPE_V3.ASM (the PIC source code) you would have seen that PIN 7 is UP, PIN 13 is NOT CONNECTED and PIN 10 is RIGHT!

 Thanks a lot, chap!

I didn't notice there is a newer version! Sometimes aminet don't show all results (or I don't type right on the "search" window). :headwall:
