You could try http://www.benderirc.de or blackIRC v1.1 wich is on Aminet (and free)! its far from as good as amIRC wich is the best client on AOS! but it works =).

Maybe you should just go with Grapevine or  B-i-t-c-h-x then? should be on Aminet :) as for amIRC beeing the best it just is ;) if its regged of course! its sad that the authors dont care anymore but thats life.
