Blizzard 2060 queries
« on: September 27, 2007, 12:13:27 AM »
I have bought a Blizzard 2040 for my A2000 with the intention of upgrading to a 060 CPU.
I have ordered a 68060 & 3.3V regulator but cannot source the BY77 SMD diodes at the moment or even find the specs. Is the type critical? This article suggests 1N4001 are equivalent: http://www.g-mb.de/P5Rework.html#B2040

Also what type of SIMM is most appropriate, EDO or FPM? Can the types be mixed? It would be interesting to hear from someone who has used this type of board.

OK thanks, I see lots of adverts for EDO SIMMS but not FPM. I will carry on looking.

Yes I had seen the Big Book of Amiga Hardware page and this one  Amiga Hardware Database and downloaded the manual but none actually the  mention the SIMM type so I will take your advice.

Thanks for the advice on the diodes, but I am surprised that a 500V part is needed.
