1950 monitor quirks
« on: September 02, 2006, 04:33:32 PM »
Yesterday my 1950 monitor came in the mail. When I plugged it into my computer to test it out, it worked fine for a few minutes. It flickered a couple of times, then completely cut out, ie the power was on, but no signal. Today I tried it again. It flickered a couple of times when I first turned it on, but worked for the bios screen for the few minutes I had it on. I am kind of worried my 'new' monitor is on the verge of something bad. Could someone help me diagnose the problem?

Well, reading amiga-hardware.com, they say, "A sync problem may be caused by the monitor detecting sync on the Green input and then disabling the horizontal and vertical sync inputs. Removing the 10K R854 resistor or the 10uf C812 capacitor on the small vertical board may fix this." I wonder if this is my problem. I would hate to spend more money on it though. I got it because it was cheaper than a scandoubler...
