My 4k is dead.

Well after 10???++++ Hours of fault finding and soldering etc,  I think i wore out my probe, I am at the sad state of declaring my 4000 MB dead.
I replaced numerous components from savlaged parts and the thing won't come back.
If anyone knows where I can get another 4000 Motherboard that's got a socket for my Buster chip in Australia, great. Otherwise I just keep my eye on the trading post paper.

Sad days indeed. :-x

Says who? I'm sure i found the remains of a depleted uranium shell inside the case. I thought the hole was for ventilation though? perhaps not :))

Do you have any ideas on what you may be looking for or expecting??  Does anyone keep such old H/W working condition?

 I'm not going to spend a fortune on antiquated h/w. OS4 is just around the corner and I want an AMIGAOne. The 4k I have is just very well loved.

Please. That would be great. I have done a lot of work on it, replaced all the SIMM sockets etc, It just won't boot. It gives grey screen only. won't initalize the disk drives even.  I can change the scan frequency from NTSC to PAL no problems so some of it is working. However removing the A3640 get's the boot sequence to the same point, so it could also be the 040 or daughter card, or even the buffer chips in between, but so far, this is as far as I get.  I checked output on Alice pins and it's resetting, but won't reset again once you send a ground to the zorro reset pin.

You're welcome to have a look, I have converted the MB to a PC tower case with PC supply also converted however, I have it all removed at the moment to work on.

I no longer have any contacts to repair people, last guy who helped me fix it was Rob from AMi Tech and they are no longer around either. Such a shame, he knew what he was doing too. If you know the lazy bloke, tell him to call me!.

redrumloa :)) Thanks mate, sorry if It sounded as thoguh I wasn't acknowledgeing this, I am still interested in why the fault happened even if spares are on the way to fix it. And a BIG thank you to you too for sourcing them out for me!! You have no idea how much I appreciate your efforts. I studied electronics at UNI so it's just something I like to play with :)) A fault you can't fix is only from damaged tracks etc in multi layer boards. It's curiosity factor so if a400bear can help me, I'd still like to know :)
