You'd want to be very sparing with the wd40 as the centrifugal force of the spinning disk will eventually spread it out over the surface. WD40 surfaces attract and capture dust. So if possible I'd Xcopy the disks onto new floppys asap after resurrecting them. But a great tip none the less.
