Try it..!  Seriously people with A500s and A2000s have used them many times before. It will give a small boost, possibly noticable, depends on the software used and the types of instructions.  But it was released to fix floors in the vanilla.  Sort of a service pack for processors.  It did have some instruction issues with some code. Test all your favs carefully.
Thats if it's not dead of course AND if you are comfortable removing and inserting a processor, which can be tricky. (no sharp screwdrivers please)  It is DIP of course and not the PGA..?
