2.7MB/S on my Buddha.  3.1 boots fine.  It works like standard IDE controller on a Pee Cee. Master Slave, etc. I backed up my fav 3.9 system setup onto a slave ide disk(20GB). You just use HDToolBox like on a A1200. I have a DVD drive attached but mostly use it as a CD as the OS tends to freakout with the DVD file system when there are a lot of files and directories present: I put it down to GURU getting old, he/she doesnt like counting past 255?
But if you buy one you'll never have to worry about fading 50PIN SCSI HDs again.  You'll have old IDEs coming out of your ears.
