IBrowse 2.4 68k and Paypal
« on: November 24, 2008, 11:21:09 AM »

Hi all, I'm using the latest 68k version of IBrowse (2.4?) and I had problems on the Paypal site last night.

Call me old fashined but I prefer to pay for Ebay items on the Paypal site itself, its never been a problem before. Last night, on the final page where you click on the button to send payment, after clicking on the button, I got a requester saying something like: "requested document is empty" or words to that effect. I tried several times, with and without Java, but always the same. I then crowbarred my son off his pc and tried it there, and it worked first time. I hope Paypal is not an Amiga unfriendly site now. It worked okay for me a few days ago.

Any thoughts?

It doesn't have anything to do with being Amiga unfriendly. IBrowse is an old and outdated browser, even v2.4. You can't really expect it to work with newest versions of Javascript. Personally I'd never risk using IBrowse for things like Paypal. Unless IBrowse 3.0 is eventually released, I think you just have to come to terms with the fact that using something modern like Firefox is the way to go for a large part of your web surfing needs.

It was "Amiga friendly2 a week ago.

And thanks, but I'm genuinely not interested in what browser anybody thinks I should or shouldn't be using.

So, has anyone experienced this problem with IBrowse 2.4 on the Paypal site, or is it working fine?

I bought something from ebay last week and paid with paypal without any problem (on my amigaone, but IBrowse is still 68k anyway).

Thanks Lionstorm, may I ask if you paid actually on the Paypal site, or if you paid directly on Ebay?

Cheers.
