Rough guess: I had similar problems with my 3C589D PCMCIA network card and the system freezing/being unreliable when using it in the early days. Turned out I needed to allocate some more memory with the stack command.

I assume you know about cardpatch/cardreset? ;-)
Main A1200D: WB3.0, 3.1 ROMs, 2GB HDD, Blizzard 1230IV (64MB RAM + FPU) and a whole load of custom heatsinks... :flame:

Yup (Well, I assume that the A4000T doesn't suffer from the reset problem...What are you using to connect to the network with your A4000T anyway?)

If im not mistaken cardpatch/cardreset needs to be started straight after setpatch in the start-up sequence on the A1200 (I run both, not sure if this is necessary).

As for the stack size, although this was for a different program (SMBFS); I was experiencing instability until I was advised to "stack 40000" in the same CLI/script as SMBFS straight before loading it. Since I made the alterations to the script that I was using to load it (Makes connecting to shared drives a lot easier than typing in the whole address), everything’s worked without a hitch since then.

That's as far as my technical expertise goes, im afraid. I’m just guessing from *limited* experience.
