About a year ago I was actually looking into the possibility of using a floppy drive as a alternative to a eeprom, but as soon as I saw the pinout and complex control signals for floppy drives I gave up.

One intresting thing might of been to hook two drives together with a pile of logic binary counters controlling the addressing and see if one floppy could be hard-copied to another.
