Hardware Inconsistencies (a little scary again for me!)
« on: May 25, 2006, 11:02:38 PM »
just left my amiga 1200 on there. booted into WB and just left it whilst on PC. now, i left it for about 10-15mins and all of a sudden the CLICK noises from the DFs stopped - the computer FROZE.

also, when i was changing the date on WB this happened.

i am getting random freeze ups (this time it has nothing to do with WHDLoad / TCPIP stack)

just pure freeze ups (though when it boots i SOMETIMES get the SOFTWARE FAILURE screen)

what is this!???

thanks

i do have 2 spare 4Mb modules. i might just leave it until tomorrow though. leave it on for a long time. personally i think its OHeating. i keep it on for to much (and redundantly quite frankly!)

okay. i filled up RAM disk until it said FULL. then i took out everything and moved it all to the "desktop". there was not a problem. so, fill-flush test worked fine. i rebooted. left it "clicking" (just boot to WB but no actions) and AGAIN it freezes.

when i reboot though it does say SOFTWARE ERROR (AND, this wasnt happening before yesterday. Also, this has all started to happen since i was working with Theme Park AGA!)

do you think its SWARE?

hmmm. maybe it is the power supply. check this out:

when the power light flashes lighter and darker (when there is a problem - we all know what that looks like)... i restart but some times it will just keep on restarting - this is very hard to explain::

you know when you first restart you have different shades on your screen well they occur but then they keep on reiterating and i need to turn the PSU off and on until sometimes it will work again. apparently its a 1200 PSU it does look like one to be honest. its an old 1200 one though (not black).

hey AKit. i will do.

but this is a little strange. i just came in from college. and i booted WITHOUTH HD1 - left it on "clicking" and no freezes! then, booted again with everything normal and again NO FREEZES. things are so inconsistent here.
