This is very confusing. Are we to conclude that Tao's announcement basically says that they have lost faith in Amiga? From what I understand DE is intent with knobs on - and by releasing it under an Amiga name, they hoped to attract some of the best coders, and tenacious user base in the world, to the Intent platform. How many Amiga coders have adopted Intent? I hear that Amiga's SDK is incomplete - perhaps this is Tao trying to get themselves some users? I'm just a little confused as to the direction things are going, particularly in light of the recent cool announcements that Amiga have been sending out.

I dont really see how this SDK can be hacked into a "100% free product" as its a really cut down version. Kinda like buying a scanner and receiving a "lite" version of photoshop with it - a taster more than anything.

My concern is this: Surely its Amiga inc. that should be sending out taster's. I know that DE is intended for interactivity - multimedia, PDA, set top box etc... and intent is for embedded stuff in your Car, Fridge, toaster etc... but Digital is a mag for the average joe. Why would he/she code for a fridge? If TAO stuck there SDK on a mag thats subscribed to by the embedded systems industry  - that would be different, cos these guys would be coding for such devices.

I dont beleive the sky's falling in - I made a distinction between DE and regular intent in my last post.

I'm just wondering why Tao are  doing what suposedly was Amiga's job? - especially when things finally seem to be happening, when everything seems rosy - and Amiga's going somewhere. If I say I'll do something, I consider that to be a promise, and will do my best to complete the task. I just wish to be clarified on the situation.

Jetracer - dont worry. It was all about confusion :-).

Sorry for posting anonymously - I was in kind of a rush - as my dam machine kept crashing. After reinstalling Windows, I eventually narrowed the problem down to some faulty Ram - I'm a stinking 128mb down now......  I used to have 512 - till a stick went faulty. Now I'm down to a lousy 256.......... :-?
