In the past i've run into the same problems with you m8. The only way was to have an OS3.9 with BB1 only and CGX3 (or Bvision System disk, anyway it's the same). Whenever i had BB2 installed i couldn't go further. Maybe you could try what i propose here and see if it works for you too, at least for starters.
