It would also be nonsense, as I was commenting on the Amibay "moderation issues" even defenders of the site agree exist(ed.)

As for mudslinging, I enjoy making clear my feelings on Amibay, and will continue to do so whenever the name pops up.  Don't worry, I'm sure they won't lose any members because of me!

Folks - I'm sure by now you realise that there are quite a few of us who are members here and also Amibay.  Deconstructive comments so far against the moderators and the site as a whole is counter productive to the Amiga community that we are all firmly part of.  

I would like to say - cut it out and grow up but then I'd just be joining in the mud slinging and I won't do that.  Also - to call them "tards" when some of them I would class as friends is just not on.  That's a personal attack on them and moderators of this site should think about that.

What I will say is however is that the folk here to date have been extremely friendly and helpful to me in the past and I've enjoyed my time here.  I also have the same experience with Amibay and like Phipscube said - we all had such a great time at R3PLAY - I wish some of you could have been there to join us.  The moderators are trying their best to keep the site running within the core values and I for one appreciate that.

Some of you guys crack me up.  "no one's gonna tell me what I can sell something for"; "it'll be a cold day in hell..." blah blah blah.  Kind of glad you Amibay naysayers are not part of our small but perfectly formed community (and it is a community by the way - a lot more than this place has turned into it seems).

Stay on eBay or wherever the hell you want to for your buying or selling.  No one's asking you to come to Amibay (trust me - we're really not) but if you do, and you don't like the rules - then get lost - simples.  

Tell you what - keep alienating Amibayers here and at this rate it'll be a cold day in hell before I donate here again for sure.

Xanxi, Amibay came out of Amibench which was pretty much for Amiga trading but Amibay evolved beyond just Amiga which is great but the site is still predominantly Amiga based although the more diversity the better and long may it grow to include more and more systems.

Your comment about Amibay not being a community on it's own, I kind of disagree with a bit but I know what you mean.  I think the active members of Amibay who contribute to the other threads and sections (not just the trading side) feel they belong more to that community but also I agree we're all part of the same old Amiga community in general.

Amiga.org is bigger as far as user base goes but that doesn't mean better - it's quite a different place to Amibay really and both have their own place and I've been a member here a long time and have had great help and advice over the years from the folks here and some of those folks are the same folks that are slamming Amibay now which makes me unhappy.  

We are one big community in the end and I'm more than happy to promote Amiga.org as much as I do Amibay because I do think this is a great place (and my comments about donations were formed of frustration more than anything) but I will absolutely not stand by idly without reply while my friends are lambasted from people who are miffed because they fell foul of the rules.
