Hi Sim085,

Sad to hear your 1084 was damaged. Perhaps it got damaged during transit. You might be able to work out a partial refund from the seller?

The front lid (and the power button) are known to break on the 1084DS. If any parts came off the lid you could try and glue it back together or perhaps find a faulty 1084 somewhere and take its front lid off and place it on yours.

How many pins does the connector that goes in the monitor have? Mine has 6.

Yes, you should connect the red and black stereo outputs of your A500 to the corresponding inputs on your 1084. You can use any old RCA style plugs. The same that you use with hifi equipment. Chances are you already have one of those cables lying around and if not you can buy them at virtually any consumer electronics store in your neighbourhood.
