Try using isopropyl alcohol on the membrane and board contacts and dry it off. You will be surprised what that stuff can do for electrical contacts.

Oh just an observation, did the CD32 have 2 Different D-Pad styles? (the black plastic bit I mean).

Dont ask me how, but I opened it up, rubbed a bit on the contact pieces, then I mounted it, launched Naughty Ones on my A1200 and "Up" worked fine!

There was nothing wrong visually inside it. I suspect maybe the cables running inside the 9-pin cable is a bit broken.
Congrats! Enjoy a working pad for the next few weeks. Hehe! :insane:
