I'm buying it for sure, "if/when..?".  This dead-end talk is a bunch of cr*p.  There can't be any clearer "dead end" than buying a PC.  On almost any day I could find 3, 4, 5 year-old PCs piled up on sidewalks in the garbage.  Thanks to obsolescence "built in", getting a PC is guaranteed fast-track to a dead end.  PCs really are fast -- the fastest way to lose your investment.

Like pretty much everyone else, I use PCs all the time.  I just view them as disposable commodities, the actual data being the only thing of value.  Amiga hardware at least retains some if not all of its value.
