No hard price yet, but it will not be many thousands. It will more likely be in the ballpark of $1,000.

/me prays the US financial market won't heal too quickly and the US$ will devaluate some more.... :-) I'm very tempted, but I'll have to do some very hard thinking and pondering before I decide to buy one.
Nevertheless: it's amazing that you even have found this lot. Three cheers for red! (how many units are we talking about here anyway?)

Does anybody have a picture of this Quikpak tower? Does it look much the same as the C= and AT 4000Ts?

Why couldn't you have found these back in July when the $ wasn't worth anything?

The dollar still isn't worth anything, it's just your British pound that is devaluating as well. But nooooo, you stubborn island dwellers wanted to keep your own money, rather than adapt the Euro....

AFAIK A4000T motherboards used LiH alkaline barrel batteries that were prone to leaking,

Nope, they don't. A4000Ts had coin type batteries. They are very probably dead, but not leaking

See: http://bboah.amiga-resistance.info/cgi-bin/showhardware_en.cgi?HARDID=4

"The A4000T also uses coin shaped lithium batteries unlike most Amiga models which use the barrel shaped batteries."

The Amiga Hardware Database also shows the A4000T mainboard with a coin type battery:
http://amiga.resource.cx/photos/a4000t

It could indeed be that originally the A4000T was designed with a barrel battery in mind, but I never heard of one actually having one (at least, not from the people that I know who own(ed) an A4000T).

Also, the silkscreened battery outline on the A4000T board doesn't look like a true barrel one either. On the A2000/3000/4000D mainboard it's rectangular. The one on the A4000T is square:
