NEC MultiSync 3D NTSC/PAL?
« on: January 09, 2012, 05:10:19 PM »
I got this monitor when I bought 3 Amiga's a while ago. When I hooked it up to my MacBook it worked OK, but when I connected it to my A1200 (NTSC, 15kHz) the picture rolled very fast and wouldn't lock on. My first guess would be bad capacitors but before I spend too much time trying to fix it, does this monitor also support Amiga PAL modes? Model # is JC-1404 HMA.
Thanks

I didn't try 31 kHz with the A1200 (the MacBook is 31kHz). I'm using one of the old Commodore 23 pin to 15 pin adapters (390682-03)

The spec sheet states it goes from 50-90 Hz vertically, so it should work in NTSC and PAL both.

Have your tried a 31 kHz mode? What kind of sync does your cable/adapter support?

@spaceman

the commodore adaptor you're using is for the toaster sync...
That's why it's rolling.

use the 390682-01 adaptor instead (without a toaster)

Hello,
I had two adapters and apparently I grabbed the wrong one! I tried the -01 and it worked fine in both NTSC and PAL. Thanks for the help. BTW if I use the -03 adapter on my A4000 Toaster setup will the NEC work? Is there a sync signal that comes from the toaster and ends up at the video port? Anyways, thanks for the info.
