A1200 HD CD-Rom doesn't boot anymore!!!
« on: June 12, 2006, 12:14:42 AM »
Hi,

can anybody help me please?

I bought a brand new A1200 with internal HD linked to
a CD Rom. The problem is that when I tried to disconnect
the cables from the mainboard of the HD and the CD Rom
my loved A1200 down't boot anymore. I tried to plug the cable wich is |------------|-| in all the position but
the computer doesn't boot. I did this to learn how to install the OS on HD after a format and to learn to mount a CD Rom with IDEFix. What could be happened?
A part of this cable is a normal Cd cable while the other part has two connections and the cable of one of it is a little shorter ( maybe 44 --- 40 ) but I do not understand what to do!!!
Can anybody help me?
I would very appreciate it!

Hi amiduffer,

well , the A1200 had a cable with 3 socket one larger
concected to an external cd rom with its power supply,
then the other 2 sockets where connecten one to the
A1200 motherboard and one to the internal HD.
I don't know the correct position of these last socket because even if they have the same size one seems to have
less pins covered.
Can u help me?
