I'm not sure if this would work, but make sure you check the volume level on this drive (the noise level it generates).

Some drives of this era (seagate barracuda and I think this drive) were mean for server use and, while high quality, have a high RPM level and produce a loud whine.  Not a problem in a closed server room but annoying when it's on your desktop.
