While you're right about synthetics and wool, I think cotton and linen (which most bedsheets are made out of like shown in the eBay photo) are actually not static electricity generating.  I'll have to check that out.

EDIT: checked....yeah, cotton is one of the lowest static electricity generating fabrics out there and linen in non-static generating, apparently.

While I'd certainly condone the use of anti-static stuff, I've seen electronics survive harsh treatment.  It's a bit of a crap-shoot.

I successfully installed and used a PCI a SCSI card that had been left out on a "FREE" table in the rain and mud for a week (after washing and letting it dry off completely for a few days).
