Well, the last / latest version of OctaMED for the Amiga still has more features and potential than I have used to full advantage, so it really is everything I need (well, full AHI integration would be good, but at least it CAN use 16-bit samples and mixdown to a 16-bit quality file).

Still, it's sad about Alfred Faust having to retire from development.  I should point out that he has also had to stop developing Bars & Pipes (best MIDI sequencing software EVER written - no joke).  He's done so much for that particular piece of software to improve it, it's really hard to thank him enough.

His last version of Bars & Pipes New (1.29) seems very stable and bug free (knock on wood).  It also runs very well under UAE....so despite its (only slightly) dated graphics it will remain a major part of my music software for....well, for the rest of my life, anyway.  I'll always keep a real Amiga or a UAE installation around just for it.

The Bars & Pipes source code IS open source however, so someone CAN step in here and continue developing it (especially to finish Alfred's largely complete OS4 port).  Anyone?
